On May 8, 2022, the Molecular Medicine Summit Forum (the first session) and the Third Anniversary Academic Conference of the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine Chinese Academy of Sciences) was successfully held in Hangzhou. During the event, the first domestic Molecular Medicine Professional Committee was established, with Academician Tan Weihong appointed as the inaugural chairman. The committee aims to systematically advance discipline planning, scientific research, talent development, and academic exchange, bringing together a specialized, comprehensive, and interdisciplinary team for discipline design and collaborative innovation. This initiative is expected to make significant contributions to major discoveries in basic science and solutions for major disease diagnosis and treatment in the field of life and health.

At the same time, a series of major scientific innovation and talent projects, including the introduction of the team under Academician Yuan Yingjin and the unveiling of the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine Chinese Academy of Sciences—BGI Genomics joint laboratory, were officially signed and implemented.
