The Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences (HIMCAS), held a kick-off meeting for a Major Project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) on highly sensitive in vivo Raman imaging. It is the first NSFC Major Project awarded to the institute since its establishment.
Led by HIMCAS, the project brings together Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Xiamen University, Fudan University, and the University of Hong Kong's Shenzhen research institute. Xiaohong Fang, Deputy Director of HIMCAS and the project's principal investigator, presented its overall objectives and core research tasks. Leaders of the four subprojects outlined their research plans and expected outcomes.
The meeting brought together NSFC representatives, 18 invited and project academic-group experts from 15 universities and research institutes, and 12 key project team members. Discussions addressed the mechanisms underlying stacking-enhanced Raman effects, improvements to the implementation plan, molecular design, delivery methods, and potential clinical applications.
The project seeks to advance fundamental understanding and imaging methodology while exploring biomedical applications through collaboration across the participating institutions.
