Biography

Dr. Xie Wang graduated with a PHD degree from Hunan University in 2018. From 2018 to 2022, he engaged in postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States. In 2022, he joined the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences as an assistant researcher. He was selected into the 2023Zhejiang Provincial talent program.

Research Interests

Research Interest I: In vivo delivery of nucleic acid drugs

Based on the specific targeting capabilities of aptamers, our research focuses on enhancing the specific binding/internalization of aptamer-drug conjugates (ApDC) in complex in vivo environments through rational design and chemical modifications such as ligand-dependent drug hydrophilic regulation and tumor-site targeted release. These methods help nucleic acid drugs to efficiently cross biological barriers and accumulate at the diseased site.

Research Interest II: Design of Novel Chemical Probe and its Application in Chemoproteomics for Post-Translational Modifications (PTMs)

As a powerful chemoproteomics method, Activity-based protein profiling (ABPP) combines small molecule probe labeling with high resolution tandem mass spectrometry to directly measure the activity of protein enzymes in physiological and pathological processes. We rationally designed and optimized small molecule probes to enhance their ability to bind to active sites of proteins (i.e. enzyme cofactors) and improve their accuracy, efficiency and stability in the complex physiological environment for the analysis of functional protein PTMs via ABPP.
