Chao Zuo is an associate researcher at the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Zuo received a Ph.D. from the Department of Chemistry at Tsinghua University in 2019 and conducted postdoctoral research at the institute from 2020 to 2022, before joining its research staff in May 2022.

Zuo’s research focuses on the design and synthesis of mRNA vaccines and the application of mRNA technologies to infectious disease prevention and cancer treatment. The work has appeared in journals including Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Nature Protocols, and Science China Chemistry.

Zuo has received special funding from the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation and support from the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation.
