Jing Zhang is an associate researcher at the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Zhang received a Ph.D. from the University of Queensland, Australia, in 2015 and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at Northwestern University in the United States. From June 2020, Zhang worked as a research scientist at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, before joining the institute in early 2023.
Zhang’s research focuses on alternative pre-mRNA splicing and cancer metastasis, DNA damage repair and antitumor immunity, and the development of mRNA medicines and vaccines. The work has appeared in journals including Nucleic Acids Research, Genes & Development, and Acta Biomaterialia.
Zhang has received support from a Zhejiang overseas young talent program and has led a Young Scientists Fund project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
