Liang Dong

Liang Dong is a researcher at the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his Ph.D. in biomaterials from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2014 under the supervision of Shuhong Yu. He continued his postdoctoral research there and subsequently held an associate research position at its national research center for microscale science. He joined the institute in November 2021.

His research focuses on the functional design, biomedical applications, and biological effects of bioinspired biomaterials. Particular interests include multifunctional bioactive materials for cancer diagnosis and treatment and for tissue repair.

His work has appeared in Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, National Science Review, and Advanced Science. He has led projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and received support from a Zhejiang provincial talent program.
