Yong Wei is a researcher at the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His group develops approaches to modulating protein interactions considered difficult to target with conventional drugs, with a particular focus on aptamer inhibitors and their potential therapeutic applications.

His research combines rational aptamer design, investigation of molecular mechanisms, and translational studies. The group’s work has appeared in Nature Structural & Molecular Biology, Nature Communications, Cell Chemical Biology, and Nucleic Acids Research.

The group contributes to the institute’s research program in nucleic acid molecular medicine and has received support from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key Research and Development Program of China, and the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation.
