Yuanyuan Du is a researcher at the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a recipient of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars. She has also been recognized as a leading young talent in Zhejiang Province and an outstanding postdoctoral researcher at the Peking University–Tsinghua University Center for Life Sciences.

Her research focuses on cell-fate reprogramming, directed differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells, cell replacement therapy, and disease modeling. She has published as a first or corresponding author in journals including Science, Nature Medicine, Nature Metabolism, Cell Stem Cell, and Cell Research.

She serves on the working group for pancreatic islet regulation and regenerative medicine of the Chinese Diabetes Society. Her research was recognized among China’s major medical advances in 2019.
