Zhaofeng Luo serves as Deputy Director of the Aptamer Screening Center at the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Since 2007, his work has focused on aptamer selection methodologies and the mechanisms underlying efficient selection.
He has developed rapid selection methods for targets ranging from small molecules and proteins to viruses and cells. His work has produced aptamers against a range of important targets and supported the development of products including small-molecule aptamer selection kits and surface plasmon resonance chips.
His research also includes the development of an integrated digital PCR instrument. He has led projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, national nanotechnology programs, and research and technology development programs of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Science and Technology of China.
