Ming Zhao is Executive Director of the Laboratory for Cell Therapy Technology Research and Engineering at the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also a professor at the National University of Defense Technology and at Central South University, and a chief physician.

His research focuses on cell therapy technologies and their clinical translation, fully automated equipment for cell preparation and manufacturing, and precision medical instruments. His work brings together cell processing, engineering development, and clinical applications.
