Biography

Dr. Xiangsheng Liu is a professor and the director of Innovative Drug Research Center at Hangzhou Institute of Medicine (HIM), Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a doctoral supervisor and recipient of the National Natural Science Fund for Excellent Young Scientist Fund Program (Overseas). Dr. Liu received his B.S. degree and Ph.D. degree from Zhejiang University in 2009 and 2014, respectively. He was a postdoctoral associate at UCLA during 2014 to 2019. He became the project scientist at UCLA in 2019, and then moved to HIM in October 2020. He is the recipient of National Key Research and Development Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation. Dr. Liu has authored over 90 publications with more than 5,000 citations, including over 30 papers published as the first or corresponding author in high-impact journals such as Journal of Clinical Investigation (JCI), ACS Nano, Advanced Science, Nature Communications and Matter.

 

Research Interests

Dr. Liu’s Lab is interested in the areas: Aptamer-drug conjugates (ApDC), mRNA drugs and vaccines, nanomedicine, nano-biological interface effects, etc. Dr. Liu’s Lab aims to provide safer and more effective prevention and treatment methods for cancer and other serious diseases.
