Hao Chang

Biography

Dr. Hao Chang obtained his Ph.D. from Zhejiang University in 2015 and subsequently worked as a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and City University of Hong Kong from 2016. In June 2021, he joined the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as a Researcher and Principal Investigator. His research focuses on the development and biomedical applications of innovative microneedle-based diagnostic and therapeutic devices. Dr. Chang has authored over 50 publications in leading journals, including Nature Biomedical Engineering, Advanced Materials, Biomaterials, Chemical Engineering Journal, Small, and Journal of Controlled Release. He holds 11 patents, among which 3 U.S. and 3 Chinese patents have been granted. His awards include the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Young Scientists Fund (Category B, formerly Excellent Young Scientists Fund), the CAS Hundred Talents Program, and the Zhejiang Provincial Excellent Young Scientists Fund. He has also received the Wiley China Outstanding Author Award, Wiley China High Contribution to Open Science Award, and the Silver Medal at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions.

 

Research Interests

His research interests include biomaterials, drug delivery, micro-/nanotechnologies, regenerative medicine, biomedical engineering. Currently, his research focuses on engineering advanced microneedle-based drug delivery systems and biosampling devices for diverse biomedical applications, such as vaccination, tumor immunotherapies, cell therapies and point-of-care diagnosis, et al.
